Framers of Fascism: Knowing the Protagonists on the Right

This session explored key people behind the right’s contemporary political formation and provided attendees with an opportunity to develop a common language around the threats and opportunities progressive organizations face amid the new reality facing many in our communities.

From pinpointing the right’s ideological pillars to uncovering its diverse recruiting strategies, this virtual session made the argument that progressives must understand the “who” and “how” of the right—that is, the people who are setting and executing the right’s agenda and the strategies they’re using not only to make inroads with disaffected progressives and moderates but also to chip away at the fundamental functions of government itself. The ideological blueprint for the right’s resurgence over the last eight years is both complex and frightening, but if we are serious about contesting their political agenda then we must understand their protagonists, their plans, and their plots.
